Plácido Domingo And Kristin Chenoweth To Co-Star Together In Marvin Hamlisch/Sheldon Harnick Washington National Opera World Premiere

"Washington National Opera's 50th Anniversary Season reaches its pinnacle with a glittering Golden Gala Celebration on March 19, 2006, at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in Washington, D.C. Plácido Domingo will be joined by some of opera's biggest stars for a glorious evening in honor of The Washington National Opera's Golden Anniversary: Elizabeth Futral, Denyce Graves, Anja Kampe, Anna Netrebko, Carlos Álvarez, Juan Diego Flórez, Paul Groves, Alan Held, Salvatore Licitra, John Matz, Samuel Ramey, Members of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program, Music Director Heinz Fricke, and the Washington National Opera Orchestra and Chorus. This Golden Gala Celebration will also include the world premiere of "The Audition--An Opera Spuffo" by National Symphony Orchestra Pops conductor Marvin Hamlisch and Broadway lyricist Sheldon Harnick, starring Broadway's Kristin Chenoweth and Plácido Domingo."
